So the great State of Maine has allowed queer folks to tie "the knot" or some sort of knot, I know not whot? Five states have done similar things and the haters must be having apoplexy!
What will the haters do for their counteroffensive? More Constitutional Amendments I suppose. What is the best way to educate their young folk and women? What are the best ways to challenge and discredit the often corrupt and oppressive patriarchs that lead the haters forward?
Combat the fundamentalist hater ideology with liberation ideas, scientific ideas, compassionate ideas and take these into the "Lion's Den"
the cults of hate that pose as religions of love. Even the least likely to improve reactionary can change their mind, Christians know that.
And of course certain extreme levels of religious delusion need to be challenged as delusions. Jesus does not want us to carry an AK and murder immigrants, no matter what the far right religious haters say!
That is a pretty crazy religious delusion, and should be criticized on that basis as well.
These people need to be dialogged with by any means necessary! Communication and debate are crucial or it is just a meaningless ruckus that could leave these usually fearful people with only the ideas of bigots to reflect upon. The haters could reverse recent advances if they are not met on the field of ideas.
Hopefully the next Supreme Court Justice will not be a hater. If Obama is truly a friend to the LGBT interests as he has described himself he will put folks on the court that recognize the full rights of LGBT people.
